After updating my blog yesterday, it snowed all day. Literally all day. It didn't stop until about 10pm when the snow switched to freezing rain. So this morning we awoke to find 9.5 inches of snow with a top layer of ice. This might not sound like much to you who experience snowy winters every year, but in Portland this is a big deal. Church was cancelled again for the second week in a row and it looks like we may be housebound for a few more days. Hopefully the snow will begin to thaw so we can spend Christmas Eve in Battle Ground with Earl's family. But I'm not holding my breath. We're supposed to get a few more inches tonight!

This snow looks like soft powder, but it has a solid layer of ice. Earl had to break through it to measure the snowfall.

These are our snowmen from two days ago. The small snowman is almost covered. A big difference if you compare the picture of the snowmen in my previous post. But I guess they are a little taller on top!

Earl took this picture of our neighbor's car across the street from our house. Hopefully he doesn't have to go anywhere soon because it could take awhile to dig that car out!
