Yesterday was a beautiful day. I've learned that living in the northwest you have to take advantage of nice weather while you can. Yesterday the kids were out of school because of parent teacher conferences. After Ethan's morning conference, Earl decided we should all go for a bike ride. We packed a picnic lunch and off we went. It's really nice that Allison and Ethan can ride by themselves (Tyson rides in the bike trailer). We are able to cover more ground that way and they really enjoy riding. There are lots of bike trails through Sherwood. Of course, Earl wants to make the outing as "nature-ly" as possible. We stopped several times to see shells from robin's eggs, a millipede, and ducks in a pond. Earl also likes to tell the kids names of plants and trees. After the exercise and science class, we stopped at a park to eat lunch and play. The kids were exhausted by the time we got home, but they had a fun day. And it's a good thing we went yesterday. Today it's raining.
