Legomania

A few weekends back, OMSI was having a Lego expo. Since our kids, especially the boys, love Legos Earl wanted to take them. Although we have never been to OMSI Earl insisted on getting the year membership. That's the accountant in him, getting the most bang for your buck. I guess that means many more trips to OMSI this year. Back to the Legos... Members of The Junior Lego league were there showing off their creations. The Lego store employees were building a four foot tall Lego R2-D2. The kids built blocks to be used in the life size Star Wars character. And in a hallway there were huge bins of Legos for the kids to build boats. Each child took his boat to a tank to see if it would float and how many marbles it would hold. Earl helped Ethan build a boat that held 45 marbles. Allison made her own boat that held 28 marbles. Tyson's boat was more of a flat raft so marbles rolled right off. Earl decided he needed to make the boat of all boats. His final creation held 120 marbles! Way to go Dad! There was also a station to build a Lego wall that could withstand a wrecking ball. We ran out of time for that project. Maybe on our next visit!
